Likely the director commenting... No one calls it 1s vs 2s other than coaches...

One reason to choose mojo black over metro depending on the age is based on the type of travel your player and family wants to do. I think the level of play will be comparable if not higher at metro South. But metro south doesn’t travel beyond the DMV and the tournament schedule is very short maybe 1-2 per month with some being intra-club tournaments where the regional teams play each other. This is reflected in the price. Metro South is less than half as expensive for a better experience and equivalent if not better coaching.

My DD played for Metro South and then went to another club and she hopes to return to metro. The level of play and coaching is terrific. The Metro regional teams get crap on these boards and are often called the ugly stepchildren of metro travel - but in our experience - the level of play and coaching has surpassed some other travel clubs we have seen. And also the culture is great without a lot of drama or mean girl BS. Mojo is notorious for that. We have particularly excellent things to say about the current coaches for Metro south PW (some have moved over from FX) and the Metro South FX coaches for the younger ages.

She’s like that with everyone. They give lots of false hope, pulling girls aside before in clinics, writing down their names, asking specific info, emails back and forth, extra encouragement to come to tryouts, they feel they got extra attention at tryouts. And then the parents see the massive amounts of girls there and realize the same thing happened to so many of them. And there was more than one session of tryouts. It was the most expensive and one of the most packed we attended. I talked to do many parents who their kid
got that special caring treatment. I did. That’s why we went. It was a money grab for tryouts. We knew it going in but they were the closest club by far. I don’t know anyone who got offers there.

Check their location, check their practice times, check their prices, compare their tournament schedules.

Which looks better on paper for your family? Did your daughter get any good vibes from coaches? Take that in to consideration.

You should already know if you want a repeat of the experience you had last year or you are ready to move on. Our only personal experience with Mojo was in tournaments (where they didn't do very well). What I read about Mojo on these threads would convince me to accept the Metro offer instead.

Take metro. Mostly because my DD is still hoping for a mojo offer!

I'm really struggling to help my daughter with this decision. She has offers at both and I'm trying to help her weigh the pros and the cons. We were on the Mojo pink team last year and honestly did not love the coaching staff or the owner TBH. I'm hoping my daughter can improve more with metro than she will with Black. I don't want her buried on the bench at either organization. Her primary goal is to play in high school - not necessarily in college at this point. Any insight on the metro south experience is greatly appreciated.
