I love it but because I have lots of French associations with it. Marianne is the female personification of France. I also love the Leonard Cohen song.

Did you watch that Netflix show called Marianne? I did. I can't hear the name without picturing hair, bones and teeth wrapped in skin.

My DD’s name is Marian, as in Marian the Librarian, and while people do pronounce it as “Miriam” sometimes, generally speaking, I think it suits her and people like it. I haven’t come across any other Marian’s or Marianne’s. I thought about Marianne, I love that name! I love it from “Sense and Sensibility.”

My aunt is named Marianne and she's just started having grandchildren, so I think that's the sweet spot in terms of time. I do like the name.
