Sounds like this is for WIN (what I need) time and that your kid does not need an intervention so is in a group that provides enrichment.
I’d use the term “enrichment” very loosely when describing the MCPS elementary school ELA curriculum
WIN time at our school does not use the curriculum. Last year my kindergartener learned about different animals and completed projects. It just means that your kid is in a large class doing activities outside the curriculum, while others who need supports are in small-group settings getting support with the curriculum.
