It’s pathetic and I find the women who act like this to be an embarrassment.

Men don't do this. It's women who dress with barely any clothing then complain about not being taken seriously. Trust me, if a man wore his speedos and a crop tank with flip flops, I wouldn't take him seriously either.

I worked at a large law firm in the early 2000s and was in charge of the "dress code" power point. No open toed shoes!

This is a good one. Toes are gross. Man toes are even worse.

Exactly. Jealous much? If it bothers you that much, write a complaint to HR. Not a public message board. YAWN.

I'm fit and attractive and I also hate this look. As a matter of fact the majority of women sporting this fashion are fat fat fat. Please, no one want to see your bulbous rolls over your pants. I remember in the 90s we called it a muffin top. Now it's more like the whole breadbasket and bakery products from last week clinging to the top of the pants for dear life.

Is this a thing now? Do business owners really not care how bad it looks?

I sent A young woman home and told her to ask her mother how to dress for a job interview. She was wearing a tank top and short (very short) shorts and flip flops.

When I was a young woman, the last thing I wanted to do was dress that way in the workplace. It was hard enough to be taken seriously and treated as an equal. I didn’t favor the casual Friday change and then all casual/anything goes. I needed every bit of my power suit.

Different time, male-dominated industry. Maybe things have changed.

Disagree. I’m fit, attractive and also a manager. It’s just not professional to have your stomach out.

I will say that other countries see no issues with stomachs showing (like India) so it’s not universal.

I remember this from when I started teaching back in the early 2000s and a pregnant faculty member wore a shirt that exposed her belly on purpose. So I guess it's not new?
