I would consider Marshall the middle of nowhere. It's definitely rural.
Marshall is 2 exits from the end of the HOV lanes.
People on the east coast have no concept of “middle of nowhere” - just because you can’t walk to a coffee shop doesn’t make it middle of nowhere. Parts of Maine and northern NE, West Virginia, North Carolina, and far southern Virginia are the only places truly isolated.
If you don’t need med evac insurance as a useful precaution, you’re not in the middle of nowhere.
Both north germantown and Marshall are within a 45 minute drive of world class hospitals. And 15 minutes from high acuity EDs. The vast majority of the population are within 10-15 miles from all of life’s conveniences. This just isn’t the middle of nowhere, it’s just rural.
Go to west Texas or Wyoming for some perspective.
