Lots of experience here as we are from the South and this is common.

One friend heard back from Bama in 18 hours. But generally, give it 2 weeks.

Four of my relatives' kids went there. All on pretty significant, if not full ride scholarships. Some engineering and some business. Two got CPA (which if you are a CPA, you are going to get a job period...why spend the money on inflated tuition from another school). One ended up getting a robotics doctorate at Michigan.

None were in Greek system. - All of them loved it and found their people.

Don't get sidetracked with Bama rush - it's not necessary unless that's what she wants.

Apparently it is a beautiful school, but I've never visited.

Kids definitely attend due to the generous aid for top students. Just visit to make sure its a good fit.

If she’s in the honors program she will be fine.

A big problem at Bama is they’ve had big growth and struggled to staff enough classes, so some are asynchronous/virtual.

Rolled Tide is more accurate.

Alabama decision was perhaps within a month for my NMSF last year, if I recall correctly.

Not as quick as Texas A&M - less than 7 days but not very long either for decision to come out.

I don't know what you want to hear. A NMSF scholar with a 1580 will likely get a full ride to Alabama if they have the grades to back it up. On the other hand, CS at Alabama is presently ranked 105. But for the right person - extroverted, Greek, social, likes football - Alabama is fine. They're making a big effort to attract smart kids from up north. Merit is very good. The dorms are nice. People are either going to love it or hate it. You should definitely visit before committing.

Pretty sure Pitt is rolling admissions.

You should get response back from Alabama very quickly and would expect to get a lot of $

Honors dorms are very nice, from what I understand.

I would also look at UT Dallas and U Tulsa for NM deals. UT Dallas has a reputation for attracting CS majors.
