Thanks for the advice! This is OP and I will see if I can get them adjusted. I can tell that they're helping certain things, but causing other problems.

I have a script for PT, but the dr said that will work best once I'm out of the boot. I can't really do much right now.

IME they shouldn't hurt.

Btw- have you seen a PT? Ditching orthotics and working on stretching and strengthening helped me more than anything else.

Not normal. My kid found them strange at first, but adjusted within a few days. I was the same way. No pain ever.

I'm in my 50s with flat feet. I did not regularly wear orthotics until well into my 40s, and now have premature arthritis probably partly due to that. Flat feet throw off the whole alignment of your lower body, which causes extra wear on joints. Orthotics support the arch and help keep everything aligned. I am a big fan of orthotics, and wish I/my parents had gotten on board earlier.

All that to say - IMO you have done a great thing for your kid! Although I can understand how you feel, and also am surprised you got orthotics if he wasn't having pain.

^^ my question too. You can't go from no orthotics to 10 hours wearing them, you have to go slow. And if you did, go back and explain- they will adjust

I went back multiple times to get mine adjusted until it worked for me....

If you did then definitely go back. The orthotic is wrong or the placement in shoe is problematic.

They shouldn't hurt - I also have flat feet and new Orthodics feel like an arch massage. They're glorious.

I just got orthotics. I have tendonitis in my foot and flat feet, so the podiatrist thought that orthotics would help me in the long term. I've been wearing them for about two weeks and eased into wearing them full time. How long does it take for the orthotic to stop hurting? It feels like I have a wooden bar under my arch. Or are these just a bad fit?
