With great trepidation, I tried mouth taping a couple of months ago. I was surprised to find it's not uncomfortable, and I do think I sleep better. I'm a convert.

But not with duct tape!! I use Micropore tape. It's gentle but effective, cheap, and a roll lasts awhile (still on my first roll after about two months).

They sell neoprene head straps to keep your mouth closed as well. You can get them on amazon. Seems like tape would be really uncomfortable.

I wear a cpap and do the same but I use mouth tape. Not crazy.

I support doing dumb tick tok things like this tbh but I would buy the special tape just for skin preservation and maybe a little better safety.

Take him to the doctor and get a sleep study. They do make special tape for it.
