Go around thanksgiving and hit up the Christmas markets in Europe. Germany, Austria and the Alsace France region are great!

What a strange question.

PP, why are you *not* solo?

Argentina

Buenos Aires, explore the Salta region (you can join a multi-night tour for transport), Iguazu Falls.

If you like hiking and have some flexibility on how long of a trip, head down to Patagonia. El Chalten and Calafate.

I liked the Caribbean, esp the French West Indies, in November. Shoulder season so it’s less crowded and hurricanes over

Chicago. Weather will be nice. Art Instutute, Natural History Museum, architecture boat tour. Stay in a nice hotel, walk around.

In November, I’d probably opt for something on the warmer side — Maybe Spain, Portugal, or somewhere else in southern Europe on the Mediterranean. Italy might be nice since it will be before the Jubilee crowds coming next year. A week is a decent chunk of time to fly to Europe. Paris will be colder/darker, but I think it’s a great place for solo travelers (the French tend to leave you alone; meaning you could spend hours in a cafe just people-watching and no one will bat an eyelash).
Or head west to Napa/Sonoma — hopefully fall colors will still be beautiful and you could stay at a nice spa.
Have fun and happy birthday!

What do you like to do? City, nature, spa, etc?

I have done trips through adventures in good company and enjoy them, though you would be on the younger side of attendees.

I will have a week off in November that happens to coincide with my 40th birthday. I want to do something fun, but it will likely have to be solo, so I'd like to go somewhere safe for a solo female traveler. I would happily join a group tour, though I don't know if it's possible at this point.

Most likely leaving out of Baltimore though very flexible with that too.

Ideas?
