Please provide info - what does your DC want to study? Going to a state school within the Honors college might be a path go get the experience they want.
BUT if appears that prestige is really important and there are just a handful of schools from the rankings that will make them feel validated.

Academically can’t do wake? Lol. Your child has a very slim chance of vandy or duke. He needs to get over himself. Gl.

This should be a useful thread given 80% of the kids I know are applying ED to Duke this year.

There really aren't many private schools that offer great academics, top D1 sports, and good school vibes. But generally, schools to consider would be:

Vanderbilt
Notre Dame
Stanford
Northwestern
USC
Boston College
Wake Forest

Why must it be a private school only?

Whoops, forgot Northwestern!

That's pretty much it for power five ("rah-rah") private colleges.

* I left out Baylor, TCU, and SMU

Thanks. Vandy on the list but others not quite academically appealing to DC. Lehigh ahead of Wake, Miami and Tulane.
