It seems like you’re potentially setting yourself up for massive heartbreak and wasted time and money by skipping these last steps. You’re going through so much, why wouldn’t you just see this through.

I guess you could skip ICSI if your sperm is all good, but the idea that testing doesn't add value is not something I've ever heard or read. I would not want to transfer an embryo that wasn't euploid - just another chance for heartbreak with no upside.

I'm 42 and pregnant with an IVF baby now after one retrieval that looked like this: 19 mature follicles, 10 eggs collected, 4 fertilized, 0 blasts at 5 days, 1 at 6 days, 0 more at 7 days. All of my numbers were good, no diagnoses other than "unexplained secondary infertility." PGT-A tested the one embryo and it was euploid, now 34 weeks pregnant.

Would not transfer untested or aneuploid embryos. Depending on how the numbers turned out, I might consider tranfering a mosaic but the testing definitely adds value. Basically the odds are not in your favor but you can sidestep some heartbreak in the form of failed transfers, CPs, or TFMR, and I'm not sure why you'd choose not to do so.

Honestly I would do all the tests that help you get a viable embryo at your age.

cant do dinor eggs If we are not able to conceive with ours, then we will just move on

Icsi is only recommended if there are sperm issues. My RE did not recommend it for us

I suppose if you end up with only 1-2 embryos, you can ask the dr about a fresh transfer without PGT testing. I would PGT test if you have multiple embryos. Like a previous poster said, the emotional and physical toll of miscarriages would be heartbreaking and time consuming.

My clinic only use ICSI if you are PGT testing. The reasoning is they don’t want multiple sperm getting in and throwing the results off.

You could also ask if they could do half conventional/half ICSI to see how the fertilization rates compare.

Ohhhh I’d to PGT-A. Age 38: labs were great, 15 mature eggs, 9 blastocysts …2 euploid. Even with a great blast rate and beautiful embryos many were deeply flawed. Not low level mosaic. Bad. I would NOT want to “test” them by undergoing multiple heartbreaking, time consuming transfers.
