I was a member of both and actually prefer the Vida. The Equinox feels like a place people go to see and be seen. Whereas the Vida, while less fancy, feels more chill. I am just there to get my workout in and leave.
When I used to go to VIDA, no matter the location, I felt it was very much a see and be seen kind of vibe. Like, I pay this much a month and I'm going to wear a cute outfit and barely sweat. Some of the class instructors also gave a vibe that they were too cool for school. Only reason I joined was b/c when I moved it was the only gym close to my apt.
OP, ask if they'll give you a free pass to try out the gym for a few days and check out each location. Go at times when you'd normally be there to see how crowded it gets. One may be more crowded and would you want to have to wait for a machine or go there even earlier to grab a spot in the class? Are the classes you want to go to are offered at times you can go?
You'll figure out if one feels like a better fit. And if both are equal, then I would choose the one closest to my house.
