Wow, really? I deliberately abstained from buying pre-Halloween candy this year. My kid brought a "bite size" snickers home from a party and it was much smaller than I remembered them being (though I don't eat them often and was questioning my own memories of the things). It tracks with the higher prices/smaller portions of basically everything else, but...

Feels cheap. Especially when it's not even real chocolate anyway, it's PGPR and/or other chemical crap.

Well given my very skinny son has just been discovered to have pre-diabetes (he doesn't even have a sweet tooth!), I think it's not a bad idea to buy fewer candies, OP. We are in a diabetes epidemic that is costing the taxpayer a LOT of money, after all. The doctor how diagnosed my son told us that a third of the US population is thought to have pre-diabetes, but most don't know it, because their doctors haven't thought to test their A1C.

Shrinkflation is pure capitalism, dear. More money for less product, or a crappier product. Stock prices and CEO salaries aren’t hurting.

I'm just shocked at the size of modern day Reese's cups. I had no idea they have gotten so small, and that's already after they've pretty much gotten rid of all good stuff and are using artificial ingredients for everything. The single Reese's cups are like 1/3rd the size now.

Happens with everything OP. I like it because I can have a taste without totally ruining my diet or wasting food.

Anyone notice how insanely small ‘fun sized’ candy is these days? We are paying the same price as before, yet are now getting almost microscopic sized snickers, Reese’s cups, etc for Halloween. It is shockingly noticeable now. Just recent bought candy preppy for Halloween and snuck a fun sized snickers on a cheat day. It has gotta be half the size or less compared to what we used to get 20 years ago. Crazy inflation hidden in Halloween candy these days.
