In HS? Maybe in ES and MS

I did it for my older davughter who graduated last year—I was definitely not the only parent and it was fun to see her teachers. I was not able to go to back to school night so hadn’t had a chance to see them. I didn’t go for the whole day.

Our MS is tomorrow, but there are only 2 invited blocks for visits, and they're not classes we are interested in. Most of the other parents we know are in the same situation.

Our HS is also not doing it tomorrow, they used to in the past

Do parents in HS really do this? How embarrassing, for the parents, not the kids.

Anyone have any idea when WJ or NB is? I thought it was tomorrow and kept my schedule free but haven’t heard anything.

My ES kids have theirs on Veterans' Day. My MS kid's is Tuesday. I'm a teacher in MCPS too so I've never been able to go when they're all on the same day.

I think schools are required to do it on either veteran or indigenous people/Columbus day but it's up to either the teaching staff

Our school moved its to Veterans Day as more parents were off than Indigenous People Day.

It used to always be on the holiday, but now schools do it on different days - last year I think ours were in November. The holiday was great because more people were off, but perhaps too many people were showing up.

Wasn't Indigenous People's holiday (aka Columbus Day) the day parents were allowed to sit in on their kids' classes in ES, MS? Did McPS get rid of this after pandemic or are schools still doing this? Haven't heard from our cluster.
