Seriously, I will be alternating between hopefulness and terror, and probably won’t eat much. I also plan to try to go to sleep instead of watching the results come in and yelling at forecasters babbling about the results well before all of the data is in.
If the election is decided quickly and Harris wins, I’ll do a nice light meal the next day — maybe salad with crab cakes or lobster rolls and a sweet soufflé.

There will be no decision on election day. Agree to that now.

I will make my DH bake some fresh bread and I will probably make soup or chili. Comforting and relatively easy and also the sort of thing we can eat for a few days if we're in a fog and can't bring ourselves to cook. Also the nice thing about soup or chili is that it's just serve yourself and people can eat whenever. I anticipate doing a big heavy workout after work that day to work out all my nerves and stress and then a long shower -- so I might not sit down to eat until 9pm after my DC goes to bed.

It’s historically been an unending night of stress ending unhappily after several days or weeks of uncertainty. I recommend hard alcohol and carbs.
