Ask at the assisted living in a podiatrist visits monthly. My mom had no idea and she walked past a meeting room that had people sitting outside. She asked a friend what she was waiting for and her friend said to see the podiatrist to get my toenails cut. I followed up and called and they gave me the podiatrist's name.

Same.

Same - Assisted Living resident w/Parkinson's gets toenails cut about 1x/month (it's actually a number of weeks, and I forget the number) and it's covered under medicare. (Straight Medicare A)

My mom had diabetes and saw the podiatrist regularly in assisted living and memory care. It was covered by Medicare.

We paid a podiatrist $70 to cut my moms nails. Sometimes the on-site salon has someone who will cut nails to include toes and they only charge $20-$30.

I also forgot to include that it is actually pretty dangerous to cut the toenails of elderly people who have any risk factors like diabetes because a small cut when trimming nails can result in infection and ultimately amputation.

So many people won't cut nails in assisted living places and many facilities won't allow non-medical personnel in to cut toenails due to the risk of injury, infection, and liability.

Forgot to add that you have to have a medical condition to qualify, but I would think the majority of residents in assisted living would qualify. My mom is blind in one eye so that qualifies her to get her toenails cut. I think her friend has diabetes

Medicare and Medicaid did not cover it for my MIL.

I know this a very specific question, but for those of you who have loved ones in assisted living and pay someone to cut their toenails, what do you pay?
