People are getting sick of the games and holistic BS by so called elite schools.
High stat kids, especially those who are non-ALDC and don't have fancy ECs, are opting to go ED to these semi-elite/2nd tier schools.

Visit and the choice will be clear - one has more of a campus feel (in the city) and the other is more city feel

There's not much difference and it's unpredictable.

Apply ED1 to the school you like more, and then if failed, ED2 to the other one.

I know the ED admission rates for BU is about 37% and 60% of its class is admitted early.

For Northeastern, it's 38% acceptance rate, and it fills less about half its class ED.

However, how many are athletic recruits, etc?

So basically which gives you the best chance? No interest in a non-Boston campus.

The Class of 2028 for BU has an ED1 rate of 34% and an ED2 rate of 20%.

1,307 accepted in ED1, I also wonder how many were athlete.

According to the school's 2023 CDS, 62 first time Freshmen received non-need athletic scholarships. That obviously won't account for all, but this isn't a SLAC where 40% of the class are varsity athletes. They don't have football or baseball, two of the largest sports.

So BU is easy to get into? A B average student with SAT of 1300 can get in?

The average GPA for accepted students for ED1 was 3.87.
Of the students accepted, 35% submitted standardized test scores. The average SAT score was 1454 and the average ACT score was 32.

I assume ED2 will be higher.

DC will do EA to Northeastern instead.

With 100k applications, it's a crapshoot either way.

Ed whatever program he likes more. I don’t like the weird games NEU plays but I do like the co-op, so I’d prefer BU as long as you’re kid is motivated to find a job, but they’re basically equivalent.

+1. ED1 to the one your kid likes more.
