This time it wasn't actually the Metro or Paramount supporters who turned the thread into that. It was the VAJRS parent who is constantly bashing both of those clubs while simultaneously trying to boost VAJRS (when they aren't even close to the level of Metro or Paramount).

17:53 again and I wanted to give OP some actual advice. If your daughter wants to join a club team for the first time, try going to some clinics before hand. She won’t make the Juniors team this year but she can still go to clinics.

Some teams that she can have a better chance at making would be BRYC, Monument, No Panic, X Factor, NVVA. Check and see which are closer to your house and which have clinics before tryouts.

It's a strong club with solid coaching. DD has been with the club for numerous years and we've been really pleased with the lack of parent drama AND player drama vs. what we hear about other clubs. This has been our experience- I get there are others on this forum that will say they experienced differently AND there are numerous posters that bash Jrs. but vhemently defend Paramount's culture and Metro's bench stacking as well as saying the parent drama is "part of being on a highly rated club" which is their choice. We are just looking for a different experience for DD and Juniors has served her well.

NP and while I don’t disagree that it’s a great club, it’s highly competitive to make a team and it’s unrealistic to suggest to this club to this parent. Her daughter hasn’t played on a club team before and there are so many of club players going to every single pre tryout session, hoping to get a chance at tryouts. My daughter is one of them.

For someone who seems sensitive to any criticism of Jrs, you sure were quick to criticize Paramount and Metro. Why not just say you have had a positive experience and leave it at that?

oh hi Paramount or Metro defender parent. Was wondering how long it would take for you to chime in and comment.

Explain how I defended either? No dog in that fight. Just fascinated that someone who felt compelled to preemptively defend against criticism of Jrs felt it necessary to take a dig at other clubs.

We are going to book a private session with an instructor to assess her skill level, and then I will know more.

It is not clear what you mean when you said that your girl played one season. If she played one season of club, you would have already known the volleyball scene, so I assume that she played a rec season. In some cases, a rec season can be as short as two months. To get you on the right track, you have to provide way more information than you did.

A PP suggested VA Juniors, which might not be your best option. The club is competitive and you may not make it on any of their teams. No matter how much your girl likes the sport, you need to be aware of her skill level and place her where she has the best chances to succeed. Based on the information I have so far, I don't believe VA Juniors is a good fit.

This sounds great, thank you! We want the same experience for our daughter that you do for yours. I am a little bit scared about the extensive travel out of state though. Has it been manageable or too much?
