What is the budget?

When we went to Paris several years back, we stayed at the hotel vernuil in st germain. I loved the location and felt it was a nice boutique hotel on a modest budget - not fancy, but had Parisian style, nicely decorated, good service in the lobby area, and clean. We enjoyed our stay and were mostly out of the hotel so didn’t require large rooms.

Hôtel L'Échiquier Opéra Paris — it’s an MGallery property, part of Accor. Xcellent location.
90% of the Paris Novotels are fine, too. I am only into charm or “boutique” if it’s luxurious. If I am going on the cheap I want modern conveniences.

We (just Dh and I) stayed here last week. It was very clean and we liked the neighborhood. It's an quick walk to the Montparnasse train station, Montparnasse tower (I recommend this!) and tons of restaurants. There is also a metro station right across the street.
We paid 170 euros, but prices might vary based on the type of room and the date.

Best Westerns in Paris are surprisingly good.

OP here. 2 parents 2 teen girls (assume we need two rooms) and looking to do all the normal touristy stuff. Teens first trip, parents went 25 years ago.

$200 or less per room would be awesome.

I used Hotel Tonight three times and each time the hotel was excellent and under $200 per night.

It's been about 5 years but we stayed at the Hotel de la Motte Picquet near the Eiffel Tower and it was very serviceable and affordable. Rooms are small but it was very clean with good service. Also while that neighborhood is not the most sophisticated to stay in, it's incredibly convenient especially for a first trip to Paris -- walking distance to major sights and right on top of a metro stop. Easy walk to the Left Bank for dinner. Lots of convenient parks and bakeries and grocery stores.

I think we paid around $120 and looking online it's similarly priced now.

We like the Ibis hotels. Have stayed at the one that’s just outside the Marais area, in the 11th arrondisemont, and also one that’s in the Grands Boulevards area, I think 9th arr.

They’re pretty plain, basic hotels with very small rooms, but we don’t go to Paris to hang out in our hotel room.

Neighborhood? With kids? Could help narrow it down.

We stayed at Hotel de Flore in Montmartre last year for about $150/night and thought it was perfectly nice.
