My teen did not like pizza as a kid. I would feed him before parties and when he had parties we would order wings to go with the pizza or get sub sandwiches or something instead. Now as a teen he really lkkes pizza (but prefers a burger or steak or ramen or ishi or burritos), provided it’s meat lovers pizza. So there is hope for those pizza haters!

My kids wouldn’t eat pizza or cake, which actually was a good thing long term. Until I made homemade pizza with them, now it’s a Favorite Food.

One of my kids went through a phase where chicken was rejected, which made it challenging to craft family dinners.

Sharing mostly to give people hope that their kids may outgrow some of this stuff.

More protein options: regular grilled chicken, fish, red meat.
My oldest eats nearly everything so its hard when the other is pickier.

Peanut butter, nuts, and seafood. Not necessarily together.

Same. When people complain about how their kids only want to eat pizza or burgers and fries or chicken nuggets I die a little inside because I would be thrilled if my kid would eat those things. No pizza, quesadillas, tacos, grilled cheese, chicken nuggets, hot dogs or hamburgers, etc. Will only eat a couple types of pasta. Same with rice or beans -- will eat some preparations but not others. And then of course doesn't eat the stuff a lot of kids won't eat -- no sushi or salmon or steak or salad etc.

She will eat a PB&J but the thing about PB&J is that you aren't even allowed to eat it a lot of places (like school or daycare or camp or even many kid activities that are nut-free facilities) so it's not even that useful.

+1 -- my kid eat PB&J but not pizza. I get why the PB&J would be annoying because it's such an easy meal or snack but at least there are substitutes that are pretty equally easy -- yogurt and granola or crackers and cheese for instance.

For us pizza night means having to have a separate meal available for our kid who just refuses to eat pizza which is a bummer. At least soon she'll be able to make her mac & cheese (or PB&J!) herself. But that doesn't work if we want to go out for pizza.

Once she asked me when the "trend" of people serving pizza at parties will end and I was like "Uh never because pizza is one of those foods that almost everyone likes." She was said but who knows maybe she'll finally cave and find a way to like it? I can dream.

Agree PB&J is a big deal. Easy and ubiquitous. Part of childhood.

I don't want to derail but I'm 40 and life would be easier if I liked salmon. Does your kid like salmon? I'd swap!

Sandwiches of any kind. Our school is nut-free so we can't even do PBJ. Sunbutter worked for a while, but I really wish my kid would like a simple turkey sandwich.

My kid has turned down pb&j for their whole life. Life would be easier if she were open to it.

(I feel like eating more veggies is probably true for most, so aside from that?)
