My dd choose to wear a slouchy suit one year - it was really cute - she wore some statement jewelry and big hair.
A friend in her prom group last spring wore a suit and it too looked great. These kids know how to style their looks. Don’t worry, it won’t look like office wear.

I’d let her pick out her outfit. Better than some of the teeny dresses being worn these days that I would have to veto.

She should wear what she wants. Is she going with a group of friends?

She should be happy and comfortable. She should not be wearing something to satisfy someone else.

If she wants a suit, she gets a suit. Honestly this is one of the better thing about kids today than my Gen X cohort.

Like a snazzy pantsuit, or more of a business suit? If she’s uncomfortable in a dress, there are dressy pant options out there. Is she going with a date or friends?
