That's interesting since the Director of Admissions stated they don't track interest, in the info session. Also Bowdoin slashed their ED admit rate last year. Historically around 30%, last year 17%. Guarantee that 17% included few to no unhooked kids.

We were just at an info session and the admission officer said there is no advantage to ED.

Amherst and Williams are a downright disadvantage. Bowdoin I would call it relatively even, though probably slightly better chance of being deferred ED and then getting in.

Chances of ED at the Chicagos and Dartmouths of the world are actually higher.

DS was admitted RD. However, he demonstrated strong interest -- 2 campus visits (one during the summer, one during the school year), student "interview", responded to the video question prompt, wrote thank you notes to his admission officer and student. Also note that he applied during the tail end of COVID, so I don't know what the EDI and recruitment %% was like compared to now. Good luck -- it is a great school
