Teachers are busy. If you have no concerns, why take a teacher’s planning time for no reason?

No, wait. You said you have no concerns. I start my conferences by asking what questions parents have for me. Usually they don’t have any and they feel obligated to sign up. Those emails are sent because we are required to send them to everyone. The teacher will say he/she has no concerns and you will have a couple minutes of small talk about how great your child is doing if you have it now. Personally, I’d wait.

Whatever you want. It's not a hint, but an invitation.

In her weekly email update to all of the parents in the class my child's teacher noted that anyone can ask for a parent-teacher conference whenever we'd like or ask to take home our child's binder for a day. I have no real concerns about our child's academics and know there will be a standard parent-teacher conference later in the year anyway, but is it a good idea to arrange one sooner since the teacher is specifically highlighting that it's on offer? Would this be valuable for getting feedback or, since we have no particular concerns, would it be better to just wait for the scheduled parent-teacher conference?
