OP here….The panel was done by IntellXX DNA, provider was Pappas Health and GW. We do not have to buy “expensive” supplements from them. They just send you the info/dosage. I believe there are four providers in the DC area that do this type of testing. Insurance does not cover it, but we used our flex account for reimbursement.

Does the "treatment plan" include expensive supplements that you have to buy from the "provider" (I note that you didn't say doctor)?

Are you talking about a Genesight or Genomid which can tell you how your child metabolizes meds? We did not find it helpful. The report actually made us delay finding the right med because it recommended others more strongly so we tried those first. It might be helpful in a case where you have tried various meds that didn’t work and you are looking for what to try next.

It’s not currently endorsed by the American Psychiatric Association. There’s no harm, but I would use it with caution.

Same thing. Tested at children's and nothing came up. ASD1 + ADHD.

My kid had a karyotype and gene sequencing done at NIH when we was little (before his ADHD and ASD diagnoses), which revealed nothing abnormal.

I don’t understand what the point of this is? Can someone explain?

NP. My kids have a genetic disease that has an association with ASD and they have ASD but the geneticist is uninterested in that and focused on physical issues. Some of the prescription supplements also seem to help some ASD symptoms.

Keep your expectations low is my advice.

We did extensive genetic testing and it all came back normal. My child has observable atypicalities, and they probably are genetic, but there’s no science yet on them. I was told this is the outcome of testing in 2/3 of cases.

Why would you do this? Childrens offered it and I said no.

OP here—genomics…alleles…like GABA or others. Certain inherited alleles have a higher pre-disposition to ASD…like inability to metabolize Vitamin D or magnesium.

Can you explain what this panel looks at specifically?

Has anyone in this group done a ASD/ADHD genomic panel? We did one recently and are waiting for a treatment plan from our provider. I am just wondering if a treatment plan worked for your kid??!
