Not only is it horrendously wasteful and terrible for environment, it is extremely bad for the user. They're now finding micro plastics in the testicles and brains of many people. Bottled water contains magnitudes of more micro plastics than tap.

I doubt they would have liked standing in line while we refilled cups from a Brita filter.

Too bad, they should.

Ah this makes sense. I've always wondered about this when I see it at the Wheaton costco and I don't judge, I'm just curious as I stand in line. I assumed the issue was concern about drinking water safety or something.

fwiw, 100% of the people I've seen over the years who were buying literally hundreds of bottles of water a one time were Hispanic or, very rarely, African.

emanada stands and convenience stores make sense

It should be banned. Our town in New England banned single serving bottles. You can buy a box if you want single.

Next time you go to get your nails done or buy a taco ant a food truck and they offer you a bottle of water, just remember they have to buy it from Costco too.

I think it should be taxed more in areas with clean drinking water.

Then make the companies producing and packaging stop.

Every time I go to Costco, I’m always amazed by how much bottled water people buy. Like today, I saw several customers buying 10 cases or more at a time. And all that plastic waste. One Brita filter can take care of all of that.
