We just attended the Freshman parent orientation, where they included the few parents of Sophomores new to TJ.

They did not mention Juniors.

I’m the parent of a Junior at a top-3 FCPS HS. Junior year is astoundingly difficult for ambitious students.

I would not make jump to TJ as a junior.

No stats but unless your kid is an off the charts genius this would be a bad idea. TJ jr year is HARD. Starting off with it would be very rough for even very good students.

Are there stats for how many juniors TJ accepts a year? Know to apply as junior cannot have applied as 9th or 10th grader so would presume in most cases is families that move into area that apply then (exact situation thinking about is family coming back from state dept assignment so not in US for 9&10). Any stats for how many kids apply/accepted for junior year? Thanks,
