For French style for cheap and actually good quality, Monoprix cannot be beat.

I just bought a cute trench coat from them--the plaid lining is what sold me. The quality is OK ... I agree with the J.Crew comparison.

I ordered two sweaters and, after a few frustrating wears, just threw them out. Cheap materials and bad construction. I am always tempted to buy more because I love the website photos but won’t.

Ha that was me and it may really be the Zara of France.

I really like their style. I bought a silk skirt and a sweater at the popup and really like them. But - I've been finding less expensive but similar options at Madewell, Mango, Jcrew and Amazon. Quince also has some similar items but I'm not impressed with its quality. I've been trying to rationalize their crossbody bag as a cheaper option than designer $4000, but I'm still not sure its worth $450 when Mango has a similar option for under $100.

I love a lot of Sezane's pieces, but its gotten too expensive. The pieces are even too expensive on resale sites like Poshmark.

Not OP, but thanks for this! Sezane is a bit pricier than I would normally be comfortable with, but I’m attracted to their stuff and if I can see and feel the clothes maybe I’ll decide a few pieces are worth it.
