Inflation. Everything costs around twice or more what it costed just 3-4 years ago. People have to eat.

I agree that it sounds high, but it is not the wood. Cost of labor is still outrageous.

Prices of wood can be looked up online. Depending on the quality, plank width and length you want it could range somewhere from $4 to $10 per square foot. With labor and other materials around 25-30k total?
We paid 17k 5 years ago for 1200 sqf of 4” wide rift and quartered red oak, sanded and stained on site.
