Was it bryc 8th grade d1? That coach has been recruiting for years. They scored 90 points in their first game.

DC's team played against a BRYC team last weekend that had at least 6 zipcode exceptions, including one player who doesn't even reside in Fairfax county. (We know the kids and parents from prior teams.) DH mused that this team likely has 4 dad coaches in order to allow for the varied zipcodes.

There's no rule allowing extra zip code exceptions for coaches.

BRYC has a ton of zip codes. Way more than any other place. One of the main FCYBL guys is a BRYC guy.

This has been problem for years in FCYBL. They refuse to do the most minor of enforcement of zip codes. They take the lazy route of "trusting" clubs/coaches to do right thing. And then - sure enough - every year there are multiple/many examples of coaches that pay no attention and try to "Hayfield" a team together...

Require proof of residence to FCYBL directly. Invest the time to review/question as needed. And have a fairer league.

Yes, every team can have two regardless of division. Some teams with connections ask for and get three. But its past the deadline to be added on to a team for this year.

Is it possible to get zip code exceptions for division 2?

It depends on if the non-local team is having a hard time filling a roster. Target organizations that had weak division 3 teams last year. Sometimes they will just take anyone.

My kid is trying out for our town select team as well as others. He did not make our town last year and not sure he will make it this year.
