Maine Cabin Masters is pretty awesome. It's about a crew of contractors that help families renovate their simple lake cabins in Maine. Usually the cabins have been in the families for generations and the renovations are low budget ($25-60K). It also provides a great overview of Maine and places to visit. Fun show and the accents are great lol

If you can get past the oh-so-campy David Bromstad, it still sucks. Most times the houses are still pretty basic and the lottery "winners" are dullards.


I no longer have cable and don't watch any of these shows now, but when I did I never watched My Lottery Dream house. It is the worst! I went through a phase of being addicted to Love It or List It and House Hunters. I LOVED them.

On PBS/WETA, I like the "If You Lived Here" series. The hosts go to a DC-area neighborhood, tour three houses and learn a bit about the area and its history. Sadly, one of the hosts passed away so the show was on pause. But in looking for the link I saw an announcement that they are continuing the show with 2 new hosts and the new season starts in October.

I love million dollar listing, but it is not appropriate for DD8. She loves to visit open houses with me, so I thought maybe she would be into a reality show about houses. I don't watch any, but I'm thinking Trading Spaces, Joanna Gaines etc. I don't want her looking up "world's biggest houses" on YouTube.
