I think the whole DC areas the drivers are mostly very self centered and only worry about getting to their destination and F everyone else.
that being said, when I cross AL or WW into MD from VA it goes down hill quick. don't even think about Indian head or route 4 or Rt 5 might as well be a race track...
Rt5 50 is pretty civilized though...

Turn signals are bad OpSec in Maryland. You are giving away your plans to the enemy.
My favorite is when you signal to change lanes, and the person behind is like, "great idea!" and swerves to get there first and tries to cut you off.
But yes, I have noticed this too. And it's usually a BMW or a pick up truck.

I come from Paris, France, where you need to be on your guard at all times because any space you leave will immediately be filled by a car or several motorbikes. I don't understand why everyone complains about MD drivers. They're much nicer than where I come from. And my Vietnamese BIL tells me horror stories of Ho Chi Minh city drivers. And my Egyptian relatives tell me horror stories of Cairo drivers.
