Isn't that when she flipped out with the whippets?

I also recall how daring it was for her to pose with her pregnant belly showing on the cover of a magazine.

I don’t have an issue with her if she was a jerk for a while after becoming famous. She seems to have gotten it together and becoming famous is difficult at first. At least she figured it out.

by being “arrogant” I think people mean demanding to be paid anywhere close to what leading men got …

No, she was a big a-hole.

ICYMI: she had a big drug problem as her career was taking off. She got it under control and was able to leverage her early success into bigger films where she was largely sexualized and known for her looks. How could it not go to her head? Anyway, she went all in on her body/appearance and said and did a lot of stuff for the better part of a decade that made her look like a know-it-all selfish jerk. While she was trying to sound educated, she mostly came across as vapid and conceited. She’s remained confident throughout, but now she comes across as mellow and wise instead of aggressively attention-seeking.

I have been so impressed with how she, their kids, and Bruce’s second wife are all taking care of him. Really nice to see.

Her autobiography was surprisingly good. She narrated the audio version and did a great job.

I thought she came across as mature, insightful and kind in Andrew McCarthy's Brat Pack documentary. There was much more depth to her personality than I had thought.

I've always had a certain respect for her. She has done really good work and it says something about her ability to stay close to Bruce and his new wife. A marriage ending is a very big deal and the way someone handles that is everything. No way she could be close to her family as she is if she totally sucked as a person. I think she is interesting and many people who are interesting lead bumpy lives but it's not that there's anything wrong with them or they are stupid. They make a lot of mistakes but usually they are cool people.

But then she and Bruce Willis purposely went away, moving their kids to the middle of nowhere presumably in an attempt to shield them from Hollywood and have a normal life. That was a selfless, mature move by two former party animals with egos. I respected that.

Anyway, I think Demi has matured dramatically over the years. While she’s remained successful and confident, she no longer comes across as arrogant. She strikes me as a woman who has learned the hard way what matters most: building a happy life with your family. I admire how she and Bruce coparented and how she is playing a role in caring for him given his heartbreaking illness.

She’s always been outwardly beautiful—and now I find her to be a beautiful person inside and out.

What I find interesting about the move away from Hollywood is that they moved the kids back at relatively young ages versus letting them get to adulthood. The preteen/teen years are tough and it might have benefited the kids to stay in a more normal environment out of the glare of the spotlight until they became adults.

I was listening to the Demi Moore interview on Fresh Air and I was surprised by how normal and intelligent she sounds! Anyone else? This was also the first interview where I thought Tonya Mosley shone. Granted she has an amazing voice but she’s just too nice and soft compared to our spiky Terry!
