I would swap Alexandria and Union and add Maryland United between Union and Achilles

But I’m assuming there’s continuity bc the coaches know most of the teams/players even on other teams?



Didn’t like the nepotism and politics at one of the mentioned clubs. It was not merit based.

What changes? Like players cutting and adding to rosters?

Coaching changes and players movement happens every year with all clubs.


Don’t forget the mergers and acquisitions. And some going belly up.

Agree with PP that change is inevitable in the bigger clubs, with coaches rotating and such. I have had one go through Arlington and one now with Potomac, and had very good experiences with both of them, with coaches and director making an effort to get to know the players, new coaches being introduced gradually and still feeling like a community. Good luck in finding the right club.

I feel like the only thing you can count on in higher level soccer these days is come January and February there will be changes. Even if it’s not your club, you will feel ramifications from other clubs. All you can do is embrace the madness, use it as a chance to take the pulse of your child, take the pulse of your family and see what’s best for everyone the year.

It will change. Even if the club announces who the coach will be at the start of the season, it still will change. See it as a positive.
