I predicted that the DC area shows would be cancelled. I think she's too big now to do those shows They don't have the security structure in place to handle it. I think all of this has hit her HARD and it's too much all at once. She isn't handling it well.

Chappell started in the biz when she was 17. Taylor started at 15. Chappell may be 26 now but the support that was there or not there during her early years would have an impact. Again look at Beiber, Demi, etc.

But nobody heard of her until a few months ago. She’s not going to make it if this is how she acts the moment she becomes famous. Also her music kind of sucks. She sounds too much like someone from the 80s I can’t put my finger on. Every song she has I feel like I’ve heard it before. Nothing special.

The reason she canceled this weekend is because she’s getting a ton of backlash online for two things she did this week. First, she came out and said she’s not gonna be pressured into endorsing a political candidate because there’s issues with both sides. This really pissed people off because she claims to be such an avid LGBTQ + advocate, particularly an advocate of trans people . She’s openly gay herself. So no matter your beliefs there’s obviously one party who fights for those rights as opposed to the other party. So it left her fans really confused about her message. Then, she ranted on social media saying of course she’s going to vote for Kamala, while mispronouncing her name, but saying she was just asking people to use critical thinking skills when choosing a candidate. She went on and on for about 10 minutes about how people need to use their critical thinking skills speaking pretty condescendingly to her fans.

I love her music but as a person she’s not very likable. I don’t care who she votes for, she should’ve just kept it to herself like she wanted to, but it’s more her attitude toward her fans that is so offputting.

I like her music and I think it's good she's bringing attention mental health issues as well as the struggles with fame. But it's a delicate balance. She's definitely going to lose some fans after the latest cancelations and I think the VMA choice was dumb.

I actually think this is something Taylor doesn't get enough credit for. She is very stable and has been for a long time even as she has grown mega famous. Even concerts - besides the Vienna terrorist threat, her shows always go on.

Sorry, but she hasn’t been around long enough start acting like Adele. Girl - you need to earn that level of diva.

She can still speak about mental health, her safety, and healthy boundaries….while doing her job.

And no, she’s no longer resonating with young audiences. So many young people have lost tons of money trying to see her in Amsterdam, London, Austin, and now DC and NYC. Young people don’t have the privilege to just not show up without any consequences. Somehow Roan is able to perform on the VMAs and recently booked high $$$$ shows.

I like her music. But she is unhinged. Without the garb and makeup she is just your basic cute young adult….. except she has major anger issues and unhinged outburts. She Reacts to everything said about her in social media, like she Goes Off. Girl, just make your music and go on tour. No one cares about your political views, u should have learned from the backlash at Taylor Swift. Just STFU already you’re not that important. I do believe she has mental health issues though, she’s a very angry girl.

Chappelle Roan is on the verge of losing her fan base. First she canceled long booked concerts in Europe at smaller venues in order to perform at the VMAs in August. She canceled right before the first show in Amsterdam, with fans already in route to Europe.

Next, Austin City Limits festival switched her from Saturday to Sunday a few weeks ago. No offers for refunds for people who had tickets to the Saturday show just to see her.

Finally, Roan announced this afternoon that she was pulling out of the All Things Go music festival this weekend at Merriweather Post Pavilion and NYC. She was booked on the lineup when she wasn’t as famous but since the summer has been billed as the headliner.

It seems to me that she is strategically canceling shows where she was booked before her fame blew up this summer.
