If you are looking at high schools this year (not Macarthur specific!), be aware that a lot of schools hold their open houses BEFORE the lottery is officially open (and therefore before myschooldc updates their web sites with the open house dates).

It becomes all word of mouth and checking school web sites to figure out when things are happening. I found it really frustrating - would have been helpful to know ahead of time

mac parent here. i’ve personally participated as a parent rep in private tours of the school.

Last year they were in the winter during lottery/enrollment season. To the best of my knowledge, that’s when all open houses are in DC. Call and ask if you can have a tour early if you want!

Does anyone know whether MacArthur HS hosts open houses for interested families?
