And you, please, don't comment until you can be encouraging.
The first pound can be very significant. It was for me. I weighed myself regularly every morning for a long time to know that my weight fluctuates and the range within which it fluctuates on a daily basis. When that weight goes down a full pound below the normal range, especially when one has begun a specific weight-loss effort, one knows it is a genuine pound lost and the beginning of a weight loss journey. OP likely knows what her normal weight is and therefore is confident this is an actual lost pound.
I'm looking forward to celebrating OP's second pound.

Weight loss begins with the first pound. Is OP supposed to wait until she's lost 5# to say she's lost her first pound?
OK a pound is not real weight loss. It's just a normal fluctuation of weight due to water. I go to bed at 130 and wake up at 129. Did I lost a pound? No, it's just pee. Tonight I'll weigh 131, did I gain 2 pounds? No, it's just water.

Anonymous wrote:I know this is supremely unimpressive, but I am 10 lbs heavier than before my last pregnancy, and my youngest is about to turn 5. (Covid and moving beyond bike commuting distance for my husband's job didn't help.) It's taken me THIS LONG to get in a space where I think I can do this, which for me has a lot to do with not being exhausted and overwhelmed by life and turning to carbs and seconds for comfort.
It's only been a week but I need to celebrate success to stay motivated. Congrats to everyone getting a tiny bit closer to their goals!
