Op here. I and DH have only travelled internationally to a few Asian countries & Toronto before we have kids together. We have not been to south or Europe yet. Kids are 6 and 10, and they are picky eaters. They just love french fries, hamburger, chicken nuggets/tenders, and pizza. They are okay with some grilled meat and white rice. They don't eat noodles, mac & cheese, salad or seafood. We are not taking them to Asia because I am not going to eat at mcdonald multiple times while we travel there.

London. Plenty to see for kids. Same language easy to ride public transport

Go to the Bloomsbury area tons of kids stuff hear five colleges so vibe is younger. Near west end theater district take in a kids show. . Public transport from Russel square to any tourist site is super easy. Walk to China town about 15 minutes have lunch in covent gardens lots of parks to play if kids get bored.

We just had a blast in Montreal and Quebec City with young kids. One even asked if we could move to Montreal!

Agree Iceland is ideal- short flight, English speakers, adventure but safe. Only downside is it’s pricey.

Iceland - easy to get there, tons of stuff to do, can fit it into a week. They have adventurous and boring food, so you can find something for everyone

What kind of things do you all enjoy? Nature, cities, museums, hiking, waterspouts, etc?
What kind of vacation are you hoping for? Cultural experience, relaxing, seeing lots of sights?

If you go far enough south it will be their winter so the heat thing won't be as much of a concern.
