If you're subbing for candied pecans, I'd do candied pumpkin seeds in little clusters, or granola if you're in a rush.

If you're subbing for plain pecans, I think you're going to want both crunch and sharpness of taste. I might do some kind of roasted chickpea with spices. I love pumpkin seeds in salad, but they are more mild tasting than pecans.

Pumpkin seeds. They’re an ingredient in a similar salad I make (along with pistachios but we’re allergic). The pumpkin seeds are a great crunch and delicious
