1) Why do people open, read and then take the time to respond to a thread and only use a poop emoji. Are you 12?

2) Do the fees cover anything? Do you actually talk to a doctor or need to in order to increase/adjust dosage? I am doing this with the support and guidance of my doctor who understands many of us see the benefits of these drugs but cannot afford to pay $1,500 out of pocket for the forcible future.

Online has been good for me. People spread so much misinformation about compound pharmacies (whether online or local) - they are heavily regulated and held to high standards. If they supply illegite drugs, they'll end up out of business. I would be most worried about the people who are getting it via med spas as I've heard stories about watered-down botox; it seems the weight loss stuff is at risk for the same thing.

You can't compare dosages like that. Ozempic and Wegovy are essentially the same medication but come in totally different dosages.

Example of the ignorance and confusion that arises when people go to compounding…

How so? Please explain.

I am currently doing IVIM and have nave no issues. Curious where you switched to that is cheaper?

With 3 months of IVIM I pay $250/month. This is for drug and their annoying $75/month fee.

I haven't switched yet because I still am in my 3 months supply, but I want to switch to something without the fee. That is the part that really bothers me. There are a few new ones out there that I think might be a bit cheaper but I haven't looked into it in depth yet.

I use HERS and it's $199/month. Works great.

I do Henry Med's. The monthly shipments are overnighted in terrific packaging. Zero stress, delays, waiting around, etc. I've lost 50 pounds since February BTW.

First- I do not want to debate the safety of Compound GLP-1s. I have spoken to my primary care about them at length and feel comfortable that the benefits outweigh the risks. My insurance does not cover weight loss medication, regardless of condition or need.

I am debating using Henry Meds, Noom, or RO - major online retailers that have their own GLP-1s versus going to my local (compounding) pharmacy that does it with a prescription (which I have). Looking for folks who have done one or the other or both to weigh in. I like the idea that it's a local trusted place and I can go pick it up. I don't want to be waiting by the mailbox for a shipment to arrive each month. I also like the idea that my online profile will not consistently be slammed by GLP-1 programs and ads and that my information will not be a third party that could sell or forward my information. The cost is slightly more for the local, but not excessively more. My hesitation is that it could stop supplying at any point or run out/be subject to availability issues etc. wheras the online retailers seem to be able to keep up with demand.

Thoughts?
