Assuming I'm starting from nothing?
I'd use it to buy a timeless coat, bag and shoes. Should last 5+ years with proper maintenance


I would hope a “timeless” coat costing $5k+ lasts more than 5 years

That’s what I spend over about 18 months with wardrobe updates— new boots in fall, few new suits per year, few new work dresses, new swimsuit/underwear as needed, add-in pieces, specialty stuff for events, running shoes, etc. And I wear stuff until I wear it out, generally.

I'd say 10 years. With a big "but" that if I had to e.g. replace key outerwear, buy new suits, etc. then that year could jump up a bit. So I'd say my yearly budget for clothes/shoes is about $600-$800 with that contingency clause.

But I wouldn't count jewelry in that total, which for me is a different and much more one-off type of purchase.
