Totally agree on this overall. But imo, pretty much every place has add ons.. it’s part of their model and obviously extra services require extra staff, extra goods, etc. So I doubt you’ll find any place where it’s totally all in.

As far as the deposit, I pointed out to them that under local law, wear and tear is not a deductible expense. And I won. They just refunded almost the full deposit. Took out less than 10 dollars.

It doesn't hurt to call Accounts Receivable at the nursing home and see what they say.

Has anyone ever fought these? Elderly parents nursing home nickle and dimed, and then had the nerve to try to hold our 2k security deposit upon move out, claiming the carpet was damaged.
