She’s 50, not 90. The platform is much more subtle than the pictures make it seem. They’re more comfortable than most of my flats and grandmas are reviewing them. It’s a great shoe for a short person like me.


Those are way too chunky for a cocktail event. I'd expect someone in their 20s to wear these at a backyard wedding. I would check out Stuart Weitzman or Bally, OP.

This. I’ve had good luck with pointy black Rothy’s. When worn with opaque black tights, they give a seamless line from leg to foot. No one will notice anything except your dress.

I can’t tell if you are looking for a conservative heel, or a party heel. If it’s more like a wedding cocktail attire, here’s a heel I bought last year and it worked out great:

I’m in my forties, feet get super sore and swollen if I stand on them all night, but I look great in heels. These were incredibly comfortable all night, and fairly innocuous looking.

You have to determine what is wrong with your feet and knees that they were painful. I have hallux rigidus so arthritis in one toe from an injury when young, that looks like a bunion but I can wear shorter heels from a handful of European brands that have wider toe boxes and are made for women with bunions.

Hello. I need to attend this event for work. Even though the invitation says cocktail, people are often very dressed up. I wore Margaux heels last year and they absolutely killed my feet and knees. So I am perhaps a lost cause. But I need to look appropriately attired for this event. Age 50. Not opposed to flatter shoes as long as they are “cocktail.” Appreciate the help.
