She’s 50, not 90. The platform is much more subtle than the pictures make it seem. They’re more comfortable than most of my flats and grandmas are reviewing them. It’s a great shoe for a short person like me.

I’ve worn flats to almost every cocktail and formal event since I was 25. It’s always fine! Flats are appropriate. Just little plain flats, or sandals, or whatever.
I am a much happier, funnier, better listening conversationalist in flats. And I mean to take nothing away from women who do all that in heels. I’m genuinely happy for them. But if you’re not one, just wear flats! Barely anyone will even notice.
