Middle school is worse. My kid came home from his first day and his first comment was that it was a zoo and he had gotten hit with a flying piece of food as some of the kids were throwing it all around and no adult stopped them.

+1. Teachers have duty free lunch in their contract. The only two times they don’t have students is lunch and special. So lunch and a planning period.

Not good. They were asking for parents to sign-up/volunteer to monitor kids during lunch/recess at our school.

I don’t know if there’s an official policy. Our school has about 120 kids and 3 paras per lunch period.

Not enough para educators during lunch and recess. Some schools welcome parent volunteers during lunch and recess.
