That’s just not true - the very up to date rate for people that do this professionally is $100-150 a night. Just go to the travel nanny / proxy parent Facebook group for professional nannies if you want the proof points. Or ask the well qualified couple people I’ve had do this who were very happy with this rate in DC. You can insist all you want about the way things should be, but thats not what qualified people are asking for right now

She’s responsible for children overnights that IMO is worth more than housekeeping.

Does she have to stay in house when they are sleeping or can she leave and go party? If she has to be in house and cannot leave they you pay her $30/hr.

.whatever she tells you is her rate. She is helping you and is inconvenienced by staying at your house. I would pay her normal rate $30/hr but, then, I'm not cheap.

Doesn’t matter if they are sleeping. She is still at work. Pay her the regular rate.
