And for us it was only 3 schools (not every school kid applied to).

Might come into play if the applicant has published papers or national or international awards.

I recall an actual case about a decade ago where it was suspected that the applicant was "assisted" by the applicant's dad in earning significant awards in the dad's professional field.

Yeah, they’re not taking the time to Google you. You don’t matter at all (aside from your income) in this process.

My spouse and I deleted our Linkedin accounts about 5 years ago. Neither of us really have any online presence, and neither do our kids.

No idea. We did list our professions. My kids did really well in admissions. I guess no presence is better than bad presence.

Yes. They will look at your education level and employment and say, okay not a FGLI student. That's it. Then they move on.

Will college AOs care about parents’ occupation or even check parents’ LinkedIn profiles?

My point is- If a kid picks an extracurricular activity or a major closely related to parents’ profession, will AOs question the authenticity of kids’ work?

If that is the case, should kids try to avoid a pursuit similar to the parents’ profession?

My kid just began high school. When we talked about major choices or activity planning, we came up with these questions. Anyone can share some insights? Thank you!
