DD takes orchestra every year, and it does take away opportunities to explore many classes. She took Honor World History online over the summer so that she can fit in orchestra in 11th grade. She is currently also taking AP Chem (double period), AP Calc BC, French 5, AP Comp Sci, and AP Comp & Language. Her HS counselor isn't giving much useful advice aside from "that's fine". Wondering if I should have stepped in and advise DD differently or at least to reconsider certain combinations. FWIW, she will likely go into something in the STEM field.
Is she currently 11th? What about APUSH? Where is US history?
AP compsci is an elective and ideally should have been left out to fit in AP history instead. There are many options to learn programming over the summer of one wants to, for credit or just for fun!
OP here. DD has taken both APUSH and AP NSL and got 5s on the exam. She would have liked to do AP World but just couldn't fit into schedule with all 4 years of Orchestra. She wondered about skipping AP Comp Sci as well but in our district it fulfills the Tech requirement for graduation. Just wanted to make sure that skipping AP World was not a mistake.
