No, that’s not correct. I’m sure you wish it were true.

As the percentage of Catholics at a school falls, the likelihood it will close increases. Just consider the 20 Catholic schools in the DMV that have closed with population shifts.

It’s not the mission of the Catholic Church to provide an escape from the public schools for non-Catholics.

If you choose a religious school you need to be okay with your child learning about religion and they pray before every class for about 1 minute. If you aren't okay with that than it is not the school for you. Most people choose catholic school for the values.

Plenty of non-Catholic and non-religious students attend Catholic schools. It’s not that out of the ordinary! There will just be certain considerations, some of which have already been outlined by other posters.

Then there’s also that your son will be in the minority among many Catholics. But you as a Catholic should know that and understand what it entails.

If your kid is fine with taking 4 years of religion classes, attending Mass, and being respectful of Catholic teaching, then it's fine. If your child would bristle at that, then no.
