Is DC so blind to see all this?

Spreads the DC police thin.

You're clueless.

Almost rented on Connecticut avenue, Saratoga I think. Something felt off when most of the people were in the hallways in the middle of the day.

That’s barely “the city.”

No, FH is the city. The fast food restaurants, sit down dining, nearby schools and library as well as hard to come by parking make it city living.

OP, you might want to think twice about paying for a house in DC proper.

That is terrifying - I live near that area and it's my metro stop.

While it's not generally unsafe, FH has gotten more rundown. Many of the stores around there have closed, more homeless people and just feels more downtrodden. The SFH neighborhoods nearby are fine but there is some crime bc it's convenient for perpetrators to flee across the borders bn MD and DC - seems like there is not great police coordination sometimes.

The 1st DC homicide of the year was at a FH hotel over NYE.

Not normal for the area but still concerning. You are not truly safe anywhere. Gotta keep your eyes open at all times and be aware of your surroundings.

I thought this area is supposed to be safe. Currently in the market for a house close to FH metro, not sure to treat this as freak accident or indicative of crime trends around here. This happened during broad day light when that area has lots of pedestrians and foot traffic.
