Ragdolls are awesome. I would love to have one. Just brush weekly or you can occasionally get a teddy bear cut. Looks cute and grows out nicely. A quarterly "sani-shave" will help them keep themselves clean. They are well-tempered, easy keeper cats.

My aunt/uncle have had two and they were both so wonderful. Lived long healthy lives and have the most loving temperament. Very easy-going. They are a very expensive breed, so you're lucky that you'll get to adopt one! I'd love to have one.

My ragdoll lived to be 20. Never had any health issues. Very well behaved and very sweet and laid back. My kids carried her around all the time. She did not need any special care.

Or bust out the clippers.

My dad and stepmom are on their 3rd ragdoll. The first two lived to about 12-14 with no major health issues. All 3 are very sweet.

A family member has one and no issues so far. Great breed. Very beautiful cat.

Does anyone have a Ragdoll? A friend who is moving to another country is unable to take hers, and I'm considering taking the cat.

I have only had "normal", unpedigreed cats in the past. I'm wondering if this breed is going to be more prone to health issues than a standard domestic shorthair? Is there anything else I should be aware of?
