Subject: Re:Anyone try Addyi or Vyleesi to revive libido?
I haven't tried those drugs but I'm on HRT including testosterone. It has been a long period of trial and error. I was first just given an estrogen patch with progesterone(oral). My libido did not increase but I felt better mood-wise.
I have started on T. First I was put on a special compounded T that didn't do much to raise my levels. I'm now on the gel that is prescribed for men but I use it in way lower doses. Here is what I've found. I feel a "spark" randomly like I used to when I was younger, unfortunately it is usually during the day when my husband and I are both working.
When we do have s*x I am able to orgasm easier and I overall it is more enjoyable. I still don't want it like I used to but it is better. I suspect that my T levels are still not what the doctor wants. I'm due for another blood test and appointment with the doctor.

It's normal. Just partnof the aging process. There is no "magic fix."

Addyi was put before the FDA as an depressant but the studies were not working out. They found an increased libido and pleasure effect in women only. They changed course, got FDA to approve it but it didn't really take off b/c you have to take it daily like a BCP.

63, on HRT for unrelenting hot flashes, still.
Out of a bad marriage, new BF, and we have a good time. BUT:
I'm not like I was when younger. I don't "feel" horny. I have desire and O with regularity, but need lube and it just all takes longer. I think it must be like men who want to have sex but can't get an erection?
It's about time there was something for women.

I ended up not trying it because it was pretty expensive, but my gyn said that the research on it was promising. This was a few years ago.

You should try pelvic floor PT.

The estrogen patch helped improve things for me. I went from a baseline of no sex drive pre-HRT to a moderate libido with periods of it being really elevated. Big improvement

I haven't tried either of those. I did try Alloy's "O-mazing" on recommendation of a friend, but it didn't do that much for me. It is not systemic, which is why it appealed to me as first line approach.

I believe she will let me try either; she’s supportive that way. That’s not my question.
Do either of these prescriptions actually work? (if you know)

Began having peri symptoms a year ago.
My drive has fallen off a cliff in just six months and it’s affecting my marriage in a bad way. DH and I are fit and we both exercise.
I love him and we have a strong marriage; we were both happy several times a week, and now nothing. I just have zero interest in sx. With him or anyone.
Read about these prescription medications in another forum. Thinking about ansking my gyn. Anyone have positive results?
